Our Staff

Keith was a 1988 graduate of Pine City High School and later graduated from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities Mortuary Science Program in 1992. In June 1992, he served his internship under Eldon and Lois Ziemer. In 1997 he assumed ownership of the funeral homes in Gilbert and Aurora, following the Ziemer's untimely deaths.  Keith owned and operated the funeral homes until June 2022 when he sold the businesses to the Dougherty family of Duluth, Minnesota.  Keith continues to work at the funeral homes and resides in Gilbert.

Keith enjoys hunting, fishing and traveling.  He serves on the Essentia Health-Northern Pines Board of Directors, the Embarrass-Vermilion Credit Union Board and the Aurora and Gilbert Cemetery Advisory Boards.

He is a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Aurora, the Arrowhead Funeral Directors and the National Funeral Directors Associations.

Joey (Kuth) Nemec Joey grew up in Aurora and graduated from Mesabi East HS, Class of 1996. She holds a BS degree in Mortuary Science from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Arts degree in management from the College of St. Scholastica. Joey resides in rural Gilbert. She is an active member of Resurrection Catholic Church in Eveleth, where she sings in the choir and serves on the Pastoral Council. In her spare time she plays saxophone in the Virginia City Band. Joey enjoys downhill skiing, traveling, scrapbooking, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her two children, Nathan and Sophia.

In 1991 Winone Nesselroad began working for Ziemer-Moeglein Funeral Homes in Gilbert and Aurora.  Eldon and Lois Ziemer were very good friends of the Nesselroads.  She resides in Gilbert and has a son, Chad and a married daughter, Andrea (Christopher) along with a granddaughter, Emma.

Susan serves as a grief support group co-ordinator, certified celebrant and provides one-on-one grief counseling services.
