Our History
In 1948, Leo and Jean Moeglein established Moeglein Funeral Home in Gilbert, MN. In 1958 they expanded the business to Aurora, MN.
In 1972 Eldon and Lois Ziemer purchased the business. The funeral home became Ziemer-Moeglein. In 1992 Keith Shatava served his internship and in 1997, purchased the business when Eldon and Lois became ill. The funeral home became Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Homes of Gilbert and Aurora. He expanded the Aurora Funeral Home in 1998 which made the funeral home more spacious for families. Today the funeral home serves much of the Iron Range area.
