Victor Jensen

Victor Joseph Jensen, 63, died October 11, 2022 in his home in Virginia, Minnesota of complications of COVID-19.

Born in Menands, NY on December 16, 1958, he was a son of Robert L. and Veronica P. (née Kayser) Jensen. Victor was raised in Menands and was a graduate of Watervliet High School and Hudson Valley Community College. For thirty years, he was employed as a correctional officer for the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.  Following his retirement, he obtained a degree and licensure in mortuary science and enjoyed a second career as a funeral director, most recently at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Homes of Gilbert and Aurora, MN (owned by the Dougherty Family of Duluth, MN).  He was an avid football and hockey fan.

Victor is survived by his daughters: Kristina (Jacob) McAdam of East Greenbush, NY and Leah Jensen of Albany, NY; granddaughter, Lily McAdam. He is also survived by his sisters: Veronica P. (Luis) Acosta of Olathe, KS and Patricia J. (Douglas) Hudson of Rochester, NY; former wife: Susan Corcoran of Watertown, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert L. and Veronica P. Jensen, and brother, William R. Jensen. A private family service will be held with inurnment at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands, NY. Memorials or donations may be made to the Humane Society.
