Vernon Lloyd Wingren passed away May 15, 2026 at Edgewood Assisted Living in Virginia with his loving wife of 68 years by his side.

Vern was born on July 19, 1939 in Blackduck, MN to Lloyd and Evelyn Wingren.

He graduated from Blackduck High and soon after married his one true love, Joanne Hill in November 1958. They built a home on Bass Lake (rural Gilbert)and raised their 2 children there. Vern was a talented and respected electrician working for several local companies over the years including Midland Electric, Herrman Electric, & M&M Electric. In the 80's, he worked for a time in Buelah, ND at the new gasification plant being built.

Vern was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Jo, his sister Lorraine Patnaude, his parents, his nephew, Tom DeBaere (just 4 days before him)as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and in -laws.

Vern is survived by his wife, Joanne, son, Greg, Bass Lake, Granddaughter Alissa (Richard Haney) Hibbing, and Great Grandson Corbin, Sister-in-law Cathy DeBaere (J. Young) Hibbing and brother-in-law Arthur Hill(Faye) Babbitt, and several loved nieces, nephews and cousins.

A service was held May 22, 2026, at Ziemer - Moeglein- Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert, MN

RIP dear Vern. You will be missed for your great sense of humor and many pranks. We will remember you with Love always.
