Funeral service for Theodore “Ted” Edward Grams, 90, of Hoyt Lakes, will be 11am Friday, December 19, 2025 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora with Deacon Mark Skala officiating. Visitation will be 5-7pm Thursday at the funeral home and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will be in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery.
Ted died Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Essentia Health – Northern Pines in Aurora, Minnesota.
Ted was born November 3, 1935 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota to Ramon and Junita Grams. He was a 1953 graduate of Granite Falls High School and later earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from St. Cloud State University.
He married Margo West on February 13, 1960 in Granite Falls. Ted taught physical education and social studies in Appleton, Gaylord, Aurora-Hoyt Lakes and retired from Mesabi East High School in 1993. Throughout the years, Ted coached high school basketball, baseball, softball and football at Aurora-Hoyt Lakes.
In his earlier years he enjoyed golfing and fishing. Ted was socially active in Hoyt Lakes and often enjoyed late night BBQ’s and dinners with family and friends. He was always up for entertaining!
Survivors include his children: Scott Grams of Phoenix, Stacy (Tim) Berg of Eagan, Sara (Ron) Holum of Bovey and Steven (Cherie) Grams of Hoyt Lakes; grandchildren: Hunter (Courtney) Grams, Jordyn (Mitch) Pehrson, Shafer Holum, Savanna (Caulin Olson) Holum and Jayde Kaeter; great grandchildren: Haidyn, Carter, Warren and Ayda; siblings: Kathleen (Ed) Klein and Michael (Sue) Grams; numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws survive.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Junita; son in infancy; wife, Margo; brother, Ramon and brother-in-law, Paul Romnes.
