Susan Haerer

Susan (Sue) R. Haerer, 71 from Gilbert, MN passed away in Gilbert on March 9th, 2026 due to a tragic accident.

Sue was born in Virginia, MN to parents Willard and Alice Kahtava on December 16th, 1954. Sue attended Cotton and Gilbert schools and graduated from Gilbert highschool in 1973. Sue worked various jobs and retired as a Human Service Technician for the State of Minnesota with 25 years of service. Sue loved being a mom to her son Wally, and the light of her life was her granddaughter Erin. Sue enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, watching her granddaughters sporting events, picnics with family, along with four wheeling and kayaking.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, brother Stanley Kahtava, sister in law Susan Kahtava and her pets.

Sue is survived by her son Wally Haerer of Virginia, MN, her granddaughter Erin Haerer (Riley Kintner) of Aurora, MN. Siblings; Roger Kahtava of Virginia, MN. Judy Kvitek of Gilbert, MN. Barb Kahtava (Phil Erickson) of Iron, MN. and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life in Sue's honor on April 18th, 2026 at the Gilbert VFW from 1 pm-3pm.
