Scott Mackey

Scott Patrick Mackey, 63, of Palo died Saturday, December 25, 2021 at his sister’s home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora.

Scott was born on March 6, 1958 to Arnold and Elvie (Hokkanen) Mackey in Virginia. He grew up in Palo and attended Aurora-Hoyt Lakes High School, Class of 1976.  Following high school, Scott went to work at Erie Mining Company.  He later attended Hibbing Technical College where he received a degree as an electrician.  Scott was then employed as an electrician for Northshore Mining in Babbitt, until his retirement.  Scott was known as a jack of all trades and enjoyed working on various projects.  He was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles.  He enjoyed his nieces and nephews and loved his dogs throughout his life.

Survivors include his three siblings: Doug (Norma) Mackey of Palo, Jeanine Oberbillig of Aurora, and Julie (Kreg) Mineheine of Palo; a nephew, Kevin Mackey; two nieces: Kelly Mackey and Chelsea (Richard Craven) Mineheine.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
