Ruth Kenyon

  Private graveside services will be held for Ruth Audrey Kenyon, 88, of Aurora at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora at a later date. Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Ruth died Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the New Journey Residence in Biwabik. Ruth was born on November 19, 1930 to Richard and Alma (Hendrickson) Sundstrom in Duluth. Following her schooling, Ruth married Laverne J. Kenyon on February 21, 1948 in Duluth. Early on she had worked as an elevator operator in Duluth. She was later employed by the State of Minnesota as a Claims Processor in Duluth, before transferring to Virginia in 1960. Ruth was a member of the Hoyt Lakes VFW Auxiliary. Survivors include one daughter: Linda (Walter) Hautala of Gilbert; four grandchildren: Scott (Chris) Hautala of Hibbing, Robyn Hautala of Duluth, Aaron (Beth) Hautala of Deerwood, and Kristen (Mark) Fenlason of Saginaw; thirteen great-grandchildren: Lindsey and Allyson Hautala, Amelia “Lily” and Nik Pieper, Caleb, Ella, Lucy, and June Hautala and Aili, William, Anders, Elias, and Andrew Fenlason. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; two sisters: Joyce and Peggy; her twin brother, Robert; and her parents.
