Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2025 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Virginia with Pastor Brad Felix officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home of Aurora. Memorials are kindly preferred in lieu of flowers.

Ruth Aileen Eilola, 84, of Tower died Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at The Waterview Woods in Eveleth.

Ruth was born on September 23, 1940 to Sigurd and Ailie (Korhonen) Kallio in Biwabik. She enjoyed many hobbies including crafting, woodworking, crocheting, baking using her own recipes and especially making wonderful breads. Ruth took pleasure in hosting parties, cooking and generally spending time with family and friends. Ruth was an outdoors enthusiast as she enjoyed snowmobiling and fishing and camping at Dryberry Lake in Canada. She remained active well into her later years having cut and burning her own firewood. Ruth was a generous lady and will be remembered for her SISU.

Survivors include her siblings: Eugene Kallio of Lincoln, CA, Kenneth (Barbara) Kallio of Embarrass, Robert (Lorna) Kallio of Aurora, Fred (Nancy) Kallio of Two Harbors and Dale (Stephanie) Kallio of Cloquet; numerous nieces, nephews, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews; as well as several special friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; a sister, Evelyn Alderson; and her parents.
