Rosemary Margaret Kodunc

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Gilbert with Fr. Babu Mangagiri celebrating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass at the church.  Interment will be in the Gilbert Cemetery.  Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert.

Rosemary Margaret Kodunc, 91, of Gilbert died Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Mt. Iron. 

She was born on May 4, 1932 in Elcor to Joseph and Mary (Mohar) Kodunce.  She graduated from the Gilbert High School, Class of 1950.  Rosemary worked at Kobe’s Grocery Store for five years, followed by Northwestern Bell as a telephone operator until the system changed to dial phones.  In 1957, Rosemary began her career as the former Erie Mining Co, with transfers to Pickands Mather Services and finally Cleveland Cliffs as a Managing Agent.  She retired in 1992 with thirty-five years of service in the accounting department.  Rosemary was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where she served on the Council of Catholic Women, sang in the funeral choir and as Editor of the Church Bulletin for several years.

Survivors include her niece, Janet (Gregg) Olson of Prior Lake; three great-nephews: Ryan, Jordan and Alex Olson; and a great-niece, Lydia Olson.

She was preceded in death by her three brothers: Joseph, John and Edward; a sister-in-law, Marie Kodunce; and her parents.
