A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:30-5:00 pm Monday, June 24, 2019 at the American Legion in Aurora. Ronald Eugene Cope, 66, of Aurora passed away Friday, June 21, 2019 at Essentia Health-Northern Pines in Aurora, just ten days shy of his 67th birthday. He was born on June 30, 1952 to James and Marie (Westlund) Cope in Cloquet, the youngest of fourteen children. Ron was employed by LTV Steel as an equipment operator until his retirement. Ron enjoyed playing games, cards, and dice.  He was known to joke around and laugh a lot.    He will be remembered as a caring, easy going guy.  He loved his family and cherished his nieces and nephews.  Survivors include his five sisters: Ruth (William) Schmitz, Sylvia Thelen, Alice (Melvin) Miller, Linda Kesty, and Patricia (Bob) Holmes; three brothers: Rudolph, David, and Dwayne Cope; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers, including his twin and his parents.
