Funeral service for Roger Lyle Stordahl, 66, of Hoyt Lakes, will be 11:00am Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Aurora with Pastor John Jacquart officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00-7:00pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at church. Burial will be at a later date in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery.
Roger died Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Essentia Health – Northern Pines in Aurora, Minnesota following several health complications.
He was born May 26, 1959 in Virginia, Minnesota to LeLand and Selma (Hval) Stordahl. Roger was raised on a farm in Markham and graduated from Aurora-Hoyt Lakes High School in 1977.
He began working in the mines until there were lay-offs. Then, he studied to be an electrician and returned to LTV Mining Company until its closure. Following its closure, he worked for Potlatch and finally retired from Sappi.
On June 19, 1982 he married Norma Jean Bogart. Roger enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was a former member of the Hoyt Lakes JC’s.
Survivors include his wife, Norma; daughters: Katherine (Joe) Otto of Aurora, Brenda (Kevin Larson) Stordahl of Willmar and Linda Stordahl of Willmar; grandchildren: Annabelle, Jasmine and Brooklyn Otto; Adam Quinn, LeeLand Quinn and Janessa Larson; brother, Jon (Vicky Jutanen) Stordahl of Gilbert; mother-in-law, June Bogart; brothers and sisters-in-law, Linda Stordahl, Barb and Mark Willett, Phyllis Bogart, Dianna Meacham and Melvin Bogart and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, LeLand and Selma; siblings: Daniel Stordahl and Karen Stordahl.
