Richard Wilson

Richard Kent Wilson, 88 passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at Edgewood Vista in Virginia.

He was born on September 7, 1937 to George and Maybelle Wilson in Chisholm, MN. He was married sixty-six years to his best friend, Betty Pierce. Richard worked multiple part time jobs while being employed by Erie Mining and later LTV Steel for thirty-four years, operating heavy equipment early on and later moving into Mining Supervision. His past times included fishing in the Boundary Waters, hunting grouse and white tail in Rauch, playing cards, polka dancing, and wintering in Florida.

Survivors include his children: Ricky (Peggy) Wilson, Ronnie (Tammy) Wilson, Becky (Peter) Micheletti, Thomas (Peter Michaud) Wilson and Julie (Robert) Rutkiewicz; eleven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Shirley (John) Slavich; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Betty; grandson, Patrick; brothers: Don and Phil; sisters: Carmen and Peggy; and his parents.

A celebration of life will be held from 11:00 A.M – 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 18, 2025 at the Biwabik Park Pavilion with a lunch being served at Noon.   Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert.
