Pauline Beton

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2026 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert with Deacon Mark Skala officiating and nurses honors conducted by the Northern Range Nursing Honor Guard. Friends and family may gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the Gilbert Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Gilbert VFW Color Guard. Memorials are kindly preferred in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society.

Pauline Josephine Beton, 100, of Gilbert died Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth.

Pauline was born on March 26, 1925 to Frank and Mary (Mezek) Beton in Elcor. She graduated from the Gilbert High School, Class of 1948 and then furthered her education at the University of St. Mary’s where she earned a degree in Nursing. Pauline enlisted to the US Navy during the Korean War where she was a nurse and achieved the ranking of Lieutenant. Pauline returned home following her honorable discharge to care for her aging parents and helped raise her nieces and nephews. She was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Gilbert. Pauline enjoyed berry picking, reading, watching Forensic Files and the news. She took the most pleasure in spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Mary and Evelyn; six brothers: John, Frank, Stanley, Edward, William and Fred; a niece, Cheryl Sebunia; great-niece and great-nephew: Aubrey and Jacob Pasch; and her parents.
