Mark Lee

Mark Eric Lee was born on November 28, 1964 to Richard and Patricia Lee. And who knew on that day what a mark he would make in the world.

Mark left this world on June 19, 2025.

Mark lived the majority of his life in Hoyt Lakes, except for his childhood summers spent on the family farm in North Dakota and a short stint in the Twin Cities. He attended Aurora Hoyt Lakes High School, graduating in 1983, followed by North Dakota State College of Science / Wahpeton where he trained as a diesel mechanic.

Mark took great pride in his work as a mechanic in the mines, including being the shop steward for the Operating Engineers Local #49.

That he spent his entire life in Hoyt Lakes was evident in the pride he had for this community, and family and friends who came out to support Mark after his cancer diagnosis.

Mark is predeceased by his parents Richard and Pat Lee and his older brother, Carl. He is survived by his beloved children, Morgan, Preston and Murray Lee, his brother James Lee (Terri), sister-in-law Linda Talcott Lee and nieces and nephews Vex, Clara, Nathan, and Kendra.
