Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Aurora with Fr. Eamonn Boland celebrating. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass at the church. Interment will be in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Memorials are kindly preferred in lieu of flowers.

LaVonne Marie Ostergaard, 100, of Hoyt Lakes died Monday, October 5, 2026 at Essentia Health-Northern Pines in Aurora.

LaVonne was born on March 23, 1926 to Christ and Ellen (Durant) Feichtinger in St. Cloud. She graduated from the Cathedral High School in St. Cloud and following high school went to work at the St. Cloud Herberger’s. LaVonne met the love of her life, Howard Ostergaard at the bus stop as she was returning from her “Rosie the Riveter” job. The couple were married on September 9, 1947. They lived in St. Cloud for a while, before moving to Hoyt Lakes. Howard and LaVonne owned and operated “The Mart” Hardware store in Hoyt Lakes. She was a member of the Queen of Peace Catholic Church and was active in sewing baptismal and many Priest’s vestment garments. She was a member of the Council of Catholic Women and the Hoyt Lakes VFW where she served as a former secretary. LaVonne took great pleasure in traveling, having had the opportunity to travel all over the world. LaVonne enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, gardening, sunbathing, walking and shoe shopping. She was an avid Bridge and 500 player and especially enjoyed playing SCRABBLE and 6-5-4 with Deanna and David. LaVonne took the greatest pleasure in spending time with the family and friends and being a grandmother.

Survivors include her children: and Karen (Dennis) Doyea of Hoyt Lakes and Eric (Debra) Ostergaard of Virginia; grandchildren: Deanna (Todd Dewhurst ) Mickelson, David (Cara) Doyea, Anna (Cole) Brakke and Thomas (Emi) Ostergaard; great-grandchildren: Lee (Paige Long) and Luke (Lexi St. Germain) Mickelson, Blake (Faith) Doyea, Haley (Nate) Beberg and Cailtin Doyea; great-great-grandchildren: Sophia Brakke, Liam and Oliva Ostergaard; great-great-great grandchildren: sisters, Freya LaVonne and June Mickelson, Joshua and Thea Doyea, Briar Beberg; brother, Roger (Edie) Feichtinger; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; son, Tom; brother, Richard Feichtinger; son-in-law, Matt Mickelson and her parents.
