A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2024 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Inurnment will be in the Gilbert Cemetery at a later date.
Kaitlyn “Kaity” Rhea Stone, 33, of Zim died Friday, December 29, 2023 at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth.
Kaity was born on November 24, 1990 to Tom Packa and Shelley Nikunen-Stone in Virginia. She attended Cherry School and graduated from Ft. Indiantown Gap in Pennsylvania, Class of 2008. She enlisted into the Army National Guard where she served until her honorable discharge on Nov. 18, 2016. Kaity had earned a BS degree in Firefighting. Kaity Raced Moto-X and Sno-X. She enjoyed hosting Bbq's and she loved a good bonfire. Kaity was very resourceful, her and the crew had plenty of shenanigans to go around. Kaity was very creative and had a wicked sense of humor. She loved family and friends and the time she spent with them at her home on the lake.
Survivors include her mother, Shelley Stone of Zim; father, Tom Packa of Mt. Iron; brother, Hunter Packa of Mt. Iron; grandmothers: Darlene Nikunen of Makinen and Charlene Komula of Virginia; two uncles: Tom (Jen) Nikunen of Twin Cities and Terry Packa of Virginia; Godson, Hayden Allen; as well as numerous cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her two grandfathers: Jerald Packa and Ron Nikunen; brother, Cole Packa; and her best friend and sister, Tina Tracy.
