John N Clark

September 2, 1950 — January 2, 2019

A visitation for John Neil Clark, 68, of Biwabik, will be held 9am-11am Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Immediately following, a luncheon will take place at the Gilbert VFW Post.  Private family burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Biwabik, Minnesota.

 

John died suddenly on Tuesday, January 2, 2019 at Northern Pines Medical Center in Aurora, Minnesota.

 

He was born September 2, 1950 in Hibbing, Minnesota to Carl and Edna (Cameron) Clark Sr. John was a graduate of Hibbing High School and began working at Minn-Tac.  He worked as a production truck driver and retired as a track boss in 2000, at the age of 50, after 33 years of service.  On July 2, 1993 he married Rebecca (Salmi) Sturgis in Virginia, Minnesota.

 

John especially enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, but his grandkids were his life. He was a member of the Aurora Gun Club, and an avid hunter in his younger days. He adored his pets and was proud to maintain his conceal and carry permit. Later in life, he enjoyed riding his side by side on trails in the woods.

 

Survivors include his wife, Becky; daughter, Sheila (Gabe) LaBarge of Buhl; step-children: Thomas Sturgis of Biwabik and Christa (Simon Read) Sturgis of Santa Clara, CA; grandchildren: Samantha, Christian, Aiden, Braeden, Desmond, Tyler and Noah; siblings: Sandra (Stan) Fesnick and Carl W. (Jennifer) Clark Jr. of Chisholm; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl Sr. and Edna; siblings: Jim (Kathleen) Clark, Harry Clark and Keith Clark.
