JoAnne White

JoAnne Gail (Olson) White, 88, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Essentia Health-Virginia.

Memorial service 1 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert with Pastor Randy Melhus from Fellowship of the Cross in Makinen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Luncheon following at the Gilbert VFW. Inurnment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora at a later date.

JoAnne was born on January 9, 1937 to Oscar and Agnes (Lorenson) Olson of Gilbert. JoAnne was the oldest of nine children and was a very devoted daughter and devoted to her siblings’ well beings. She was always looking out for others with great heartfelt compassion. JoAnne graduated high school in Roseau, MN. She married Willard E. Lundquist in 1955 and had four children. She later remarried Wilfred G. White and he had five children. Together they had a happy, hard working family of nine children and settled on a hobby farm with 40 acres in Palo, MN.

Survivors include her children: Waylan (Karlyn) Lundquist of Lynchburg, Virginia, Julie (Bruce) Miltz of North Branch, Karen Lundquist of Woodbury, Buck White of California, Kim (John) Schick of Missouri, Richard (Tracee) White of Stillwater; daughter-in-law: Shannon Lundquist of Britt; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings: Sonny (Lynn) Olson of Eveleth, Lois (Dwayne) Archibald of Gilbert and Gary (Darr) Olson of Hoyt Lakes; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her two husband, Wilfred White and Don Strandlund, sons: Thomas Lundquist and Kenneth White; daughter, Ginger White; granddaughter Kristen Kaminski; great-granddaughter, McKenzie Cash; siblings: Frances McKenzie, Carol Gubrud, Arlene Kaiser, Gordy and Dale Olson, and her parents.
