Jackelyn "Jacki" Zasadni

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert with Pastor Jeanne Madsen officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be in the Biwabik Township Cemetery.

Jackelyn Mae Zasadni left this world unexpectedly on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

Jacki was born May 22, 1980, in Virginia, MN to David Zasadni & Joan Whiton. She attended grade school and junior high school in Gilbert, MN. For high school, Jacki attended Eveleth-Gilbert High School and graduated from Greenway High School in 1998. She later attended Mesabi Range Community college for her LPN and Hibbing Community College for her RN.  Being a nurse came naturally to Jacki and she spent many years caring for others as if they were her own.

Jacki’s biggest pride point and accomplishment in life was her daughter, Jacee Jane. There is nothing she wouldn’t do for her and there was nothing that made her happier than time spent with her daughter. You will never meet a prouder Mom than Jacki.

Second to being a loving mother, she had great joy in the time spent with her nieces and nephews. They looked forward to her bringing them the coolest gifts and her willingness to play anything they desired.  

As a sister, she loved and protected her siblings fiercely. As a child she received the nickname “The Boss” and she never let her siblings forget it. We will forever miss the countless hours of laughs shared and all the shenanigans she got us into. There will forever be a missing piece to our dynamic of 5.

As a daughter, she kept her parents on their toes but could always be counted on to drop anything at moment’s notice to be there and do whatever was needed. They embraced and loved the fierce force that she was.

Jacki could often be found shopping at thrift stores, rummage sales, and finding the best deals. She was always on the go with anyone who wanted help or friendly company to anywhere they needed to be. Her family and friends will always remember her for her HUGE heart, crazy antics, sizable wardrobe, and loud laugh.

She is loved deeply and missed by her daughter, Jacee Jane Zasadni; her parents, David & Debra Zasadni & Joan Whiton; her grandmother Helen Whiton; her sisters: Jasmine (Matthew) Black, Dana (Jeremy Vang) Zasadni; her brothers: Cody Tocchio & Cord (Taylor Bozicevich) Tocchio; her nieces & nephews: Alicia, Austin, Nate Dawg, Miko David, Sevie D., Ophelia, Natalia and Matías; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and last but not least, Jefferson the dog.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Stanley, Mary & Marilyn Zasadni, Ronald Whiton, Mike & Marlene Wudinich; nephew, Cole Wishart Black; aunt, Debbie Wolfe; uncle, Charlie Whiton; and cousin Jeff Wudinich; close friends; and Mylee Mae, the dog.
