Ida S Holcomb

Ida S. Holcomb was born on December 8, 1936 in Warroad, MN to Florence (Anderson) and Simon Meyer. Ida passed peacefully in Eveleth MN at Waterview Woods on January 5, 2025 at the age of 88. She grew up on the family farm West of Warroad Minnesota. Ida attending Warroad High School graduating in 1956. She met and married the love of her life, Edward Holcomb, June 30th 1958. Together they built a home and raised 4 boys. She loved to cook and bake making every birthday and holiday special. Christmas being her favorite.

As her sons grew older and left home she occupied her time by starting a Daycare to help the families in the neighborhood. She also worked with her longtime best friends, JoAnne White, in her catering business. Though some may call her a homemaker she was much more than that and will be greatly missed.

Ida is survived by her sons, Charles, Gregory (Laurie), Jeffrey, Scott (Angel), grand daughter Jessi (Zack) Behrendt, brother Leonard (Marina) Meyer, nieces, nephews and extended family members.

She is preceded in death by her husband Edward(2007); parents, Florence and Simon Meyer; sisters, Alice Brisson-Bretag, Margaret Kimble, Virginia Henderson, Clarice Meyer; brothers, Stanley, Herman, Elmer, Clifford, and two infant baby boys, in 1922 and in 1941; also sister-in-law Ruth (Stanley) Meyer ; brothers-in-law Alex Brisson, Almer Kimble, Earl Burress, Gerald Bretag, and Hank Henderson.

 A family Internment will be held graveside on Friday, May 16 at Rauha Cemetery in Palo MN at 11:00 a.m.
