Gregg S. Bright

May 21, 1949 — December 20, 2022

Gregg Stanton Bright, affectionately known as “Coach” and “The Dodge Man” 73, of Henderson, Nevada died peacefully at his home in Henderson surrounded by family under hospice care on Dec. 20, 2022.

He was born May 21, 1949 in Fairmont, Minnesota to Kenneth and Bethel Bright.  Gregg attended Apache Junction High School, Arizona State University and Cypress College.  He earned a Bachelors Degree with a major in Mortuary Science. 

Gregg worked for a time in Los Angeles later in Eugene, OR and finally moved to Cottage Grove where he worked for 10 years.  Then he got his dream job as a Dodge Rep for 31 years traveling the upper Midwest.  On November 21, 1981 he married Gail McKinney in Reno, Nevada.

Gregg was a member of the Presidents Honor Roll at Cypress College.  He also received the Cypress College Mortuary Science Department’s Melvin D. Hilgenfeld award for Outstanding Student in Funeral Directing.  Gregg enjoyed golfing and softball – where he was known by most as Coach.

Survivors include his spouses: Gail McKinney, Denice Allen and Velora Barringer; children: Conny Eisen (Thomas Droll), Ben Bright (Katie), Nate Bright (Kate), Robin Neely (Justin) and Bobby Armin (wife Jackie, daughter, Mia) who he considered as one of his own children; grandchildren: Brianna Droll (Danny Niles), Amanda Shepherd (Chris), Aniya Armour, TJ “Spanky” Droll, Lacey, Mya, and Abbey Bright, Augi and Dahlia Bright; great grandchildren: Aurora Shepherd, Haeden Droll, Kynadee Bishop, Blair and Colton Niles; his in-laws: Louise Taylor and Janet Rehfus; grade school friend, David Chism and many others too numerous to mention, along with his canine companions, Sophie and Pippi.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Bethel; grandson, Zachary Bright (Aug. 9, 2020); siblings: Kraig M. Bright and Brent L. Bright and previous pets, Baxter and Skippy

Funeral service will be 11am Monday, Jan. 9, 2023 at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home in Brooklyn Center with Karen Atkins as celebrant.  Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 8 from 2-7pm at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service Monday.
