Elizabeth "Betty" Korva

A gathering of family and friends of Elizabeth Angela Korva, 73, of Palo, will be 5-7pm Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Burial will take place at a later date in the Rauha Cemetery in Palo.

Betty died Monday, November 25, 2024 at Essentia Health – St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, Minnesota.

She was born March 7, 1951 in Virginia, Minnesota to Frank and Jennie (Stepich) Schley. Betty was a graduate of Virgina High School and later married Leonard Korva on August 1, 1970 in Virginia. 

Betty worked as a custodian for the Town of White for 15 years and later at Edgewood Vista in Virginia for seven years. Betty was a homemaker who enjoyed baking, cooking and time spent with her family. She also served as an advisor for the Palo-Markham Teen Club for nearly ten years. 

Survivors include her husband, Leonard; children: Cory (Wendy) Korva of Hoyt Lakes and Jennifer (Billy Gibbs) Korva of Palo; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and step-grandchildren; siblings, Jewell Rankila and Bill (Sue) Schley.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Jennie; son, Joe; sister, Diane Lamke and best friend and companion, Daisy
