Elfriede Antonie Gentilini

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2026 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert with Deacon Mark Skala officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery Columbarium in Aurora.

Elfriede Antonie Gentilini, 84, of Aurora died July 18, 2026 at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth.

She was born on May 22, 1942 to Josef and Maria (Richter) Hasselbacker in Rehau, Germany. She graduated from high school in Rehau. Elfrieda was united in marriage to Roger Gentilini on July 21, 1965 in Rehau. She had been employed by several jobs throughout her life, most recently LTV Steel where she retired upon the company’s closure. Elfriede enjoyed ceramics, baking, flower gardening and traveling. She and Roger spent twenty-six winters in Florida and had the opportunity to travel all over the US attending Roger’s US Airforce reunions. Elfrieda took the greatest pleasure in being a grandma and great-grandma. She will be remembered for her kind heart and her strong German will.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Roger; children: Anne (Steve Gustafson) Gentilini, Carol (Michael) Caso and Jim Gentilini; grandchildren: Kristin Johnson, Stephanie (Brady) Christel , Andrew (Eileen) Anderson and Ryan Anderson; great-grandchildren: Peyton, Hayes, Eleanor and Oliver; a sister, Richarda; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by six siblings and her parents.
