“Dewey” (Duane) Stanley Rudolph passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family on August 13th, 2025 at the age of 77.
Dewey was born to Maurice and Lillian on October 13th, 1947. He grew up on a farm in Vergas, Minnesota where he was proud to have attended a one room school house. At a young age, his family moved to Hoyt Lakes for his father to pursue employment at Erie Mining Company.
Over the years, Dewey wore many different hats. He was a lifeguard, grocery stock boy, travel agent, and owner/operator of the Tacora Theater, before
retiring from Minntac in the early 2000s with 30 years of service. He was actively involved with the Ranger ATV and Snowmobile Club, was an AA sponsor, and taught DNR firearm, snowmobile, and ATV safety courses.
Dewey and LeAnne married on May 3rd, 1997 and made their home at Ely Lake before moving to Virginia in his final years. His hobbies included hunting, golfing, skiing, and telling tall tales, just to name a few. His most cherished time was spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Dewey is survived by his wife of 28 years, LeAnne; Sons: Keith (Christine) Rudolph and Justin (Jennifer) Champa; Daughters: Janelle (Jeff) Dolinsek, Corryn (Brett) Bundermann, Jenna (Kyle) Altobelli, and Kelsi (Matt) Rice; Grandchildren: Brennon Nagorski, Julia and Daniel Rudolph, Lux Rudolph, Peige Champa, Jax and Jayden Dolinsek, Kaleb, Joanna, and Jordynn Altobelli, and Eli, Hailey, and Madison Rice; Brother-in-law: Dave Holm; and several nieces and nephews.
Dewey is preceded in death by his son: Kevin; Parents: Maurice and Lillian; Brother: Arnold; and Sisters: Esther, Maurine, and Karlyne.
A funeral Service will be held at North Star Church in Virginia on Wednesday, August 20th with visitation at 10:00 am and service to follow at 11:00 am. The family will hold a private burial. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert.
