Donna Marie Miller

Donna Marie Miller, 93, of Aurora, MN, passed away in the company of her family on November 20, 2024 at Carefree Living in Aurora.

Donna was born on March 26, 1931 to Edward and Myrtle (Anderson) Storey in Gonvick, MN. She married Roy Miller and the couple moved to the Aurora area, raising their four daughters along the St. Louis River.

Donna taught herself to play piano at an early age, and continued playing throughout her life. The residents of Carefree Living often had the opportunity to listen to her playing old favorites. A longtime member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, she was particularly happy whenever the older hymns were chosen for a service. As an active member of the Women of the Moose, Donna could be seen serving her community at many a walleye feed and steak fry. She loved to garden, with a fondness for planting poppies and other flowers. She enjoyed crosswords and jigsaw puzzles.

Donna is survived by her daughters Linda Miller, Barbara (Gene) Gunderson, Jill Miller, and Lisa Miller; step-children Gary (Chun Hui) Johnson and Janel Desjardins; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roy W. Miller; step-children Perry Johnson and Lindy Johnson; her parents Ed and Myrtle; and a great-grandson, Brandon.

Memorials may be sent to the Clearwater County Historical Society.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024 from 1-3 p.m. at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora.
