Donald "Donnie" Carl Johnson

A gathering of friends and family for Donald “Donnie” Carl Johnson, 62, of Aurora will be held from 4-6 pm Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Inurnment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora at a later date. Donald died Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Essentia Health-Virginia with his family by his side. He was born on August 14, 1956 in Portland, OR. On February 20, 1987, Donnie married the love of his life, Bonita “Bonnie” Rewertz.  He had been employed by Erie, later LTV Steel for twenty-eight years.  Donnie enjoyed spending time outdoors with his animals and was an avid collector. Survivors include his sister, Debbra Johnson; nieces and nephews: Amy (Derek) Stach, Joe Johnson, and Sarah (Eric) Michalski; grandchildren: Hannah, Cameron, and Trigg; sister and brother-in-law: Debbie and Don Tennison; special cousins: Barb (Bernie) Novak, Tom and Ronald Soger; special friends: Dan Johnson, Bobbie Hanson, and Greg Nelson; as well as his beloved pets: Tex, Sasha, Zeke, and Jack. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie; father, Donald; grandmother, Ruth.
