A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026 at the Mesabi East High School Gymnasium with Pastor Caleb Weight officiating. Friends and family may gather from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Memorials are kindly preferred in lieu of flowers.

Cody Allen Siebert, 33, of Babbitt died Friday, February 27, 2026 at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth.

Cody was born on April 10, 1992 to Todd and Lori (Loushin) Siebert in Bremerton, WA. He grew up and attended Babbitt High School, graduating from the Class of 2011. Cody continued his education at Lake Superior College in Duluth and then St. Cloud State where he earned a degree in law enforcement. Cody worked part time in Becker, MN before becoming hired full time for the Babbitt Police Department where he started the K9 program with his partner, Tac. Sargeant Siebert

was most recently employed by the East Range Police Department in Hoyt Lakes and Aurora. Cody met the love of his life, Karen Blais in 2022. The couple lived in Babbitt where they were raising two young boys. Cody enjoyed playing, coaching and watching basketball and game nights with family and friends. Cody loved animals, especially his dogs: his partner, Tac and his best friend, Sizzle. Cody had a passion for mentoring and encouraging youth in the community. Above all, he took the greatest pleasure in being a Dad to his sons whom he loved dearly. Cody will be remembered for his fun and spontaneous nature.

Survivors include his parents: Todd and Lori Siebert of Hermantown; love of his life, Karen Blais of Babbitt; sons: Reese and Bayne; brothers: Brandon (Ashley) and Derek Siebert both of Duluth; niece and nephews: Stella, Jack, Otto and Eike Siebert; maternal grandmother, Jean Loushin of Duluth; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Alyssa Siebert; and grandparents: Kenneth and Donna Siebert and Jim Loushin.
