A private family funeral was held. Interment was in the Biwabik Township Cemetery. Arrangements by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert.
Clifford Edward Solberg, 76, of rural Gilbert died Monday, May 12, 2025 at his home surrounded by family.
He was born on May 21, 1948 to Milton and Wanda (Drawz) Solberg in Grand Rapids, MN. He grew up and attended school in Grand Rapids. Clifford enlisted into the US Arny and served during Vietnam in Germany. He returned to Warba, MN and married Renee King in 1971, raised two children together and later went their separate ways. Clifford was employed by US Steel until his retirement in 2003. On January 24, 2003, he was united in marriage to Robin Hoshal. The couple made their home in Hutter. Clifford was a member of the NRA and the American Legion. He enjoyed gardening, attending classic car shows, bird watching, western movies and was an avid collector of figurative salt and pepper shakers. He took the greatest pleasure in spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Robin; children: Darcie (Rick) Solberg of Pengilly, Jason Solberg of Chisholm and Morgan (Corey Hartline) Hoshal Solberg of Virginia; “bonus” son: Bryan Daniels of Virginia; grandchildren: Arielle (Blake Wise) Solberg and Lily, Noah, Christian and Bella Solberg; brothers: Ric (Rox) Solberg of Apache Junction, AZ, Drew (Lisa) Solberg of Rangeley, ME and Gregg (Lisa) Solberg of Bybee, TN; a sister, Nikki Mistelske Vaudrin; sisters-in-law: Carol and Kim Solberg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Keith and Dusty Solberg and his parents.
