Carol Jean Houdek, 85, of Aurora died peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Carefree Living in Aurora.

She was born on September 17,1940 to Louis and Frances (Berg) Albright in Superior, WI. Carol graduated from the Aurora-Hoyt Lakes High School, Class of 1958. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Houdek on February 6, 1960. Carol was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had worked at David's Restaurant and Hank's Bar and Grill in Aurora.

She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and their Assumption Group, the Red Hat Society and bowling leagues.

Carol enjoyed playing BINGO, working puzzles, lunching with her lady friends, Harley-Davidson rides with Larry and was an avid MN Twins and Vikings fan. Most of all, Carol took the greatest pride and joy in being a grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her children: Scott (Pam) Houdek of Nashville, TN, Kim (Paul) Batsche of Anoka and Randy (Diane) Houdek of Hoyt Lakes; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald (Gene) Albright of Biwabik; daughter-in-law Sharrie Haw and son-in-law John Haw of Gilbert; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; son, Robert; daughter, Mary Haw; sister, Joan Magnuson and brother, John "Jocko" Albright.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2025 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora with Pastor Rebecca Klotter officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. lnurnment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora with a luncheon to follow at the Aurora Community Center.

Memorials are kindly preferred in lieu of flowers.
