Funeral service for Howard Gordon Meacham, 74, of Palo, will be 11am Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Assembly of God Church in Aurora with Rev. Derrick DeTurk officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7pm at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora and continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Rauha Cemetery in White Township, MN. Mr. Meacham died Monday, October 11, 2010 at Essentia Health - Northern Pines Medical Center (White Community Hospital) in Aurora. He was born June 21, 1936 in Pine River, MN to Marcel and Cora Meacham. Howard was a graduate of Remer High School and in 1959 began working for Erie Mining Company. On July 9, 1960 he married Donna Rogers in Pillager, MN. They moved to Tower prior to moving to Palo in 1963. He retired from LTV Steel as a driller in 1985 following health complications. He was a member of Steelworkers #4108, was active with Harvest Fest and enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. Survivors include his wife, Donna, children, Larry (Maxine) of East Bethel, Gordon (Kris) of Embarrass and Lynn (Rick) Jones of Aurora, grandchildren, Kristen (Joe) Agee, Julie (Tyler) Jones, Joshua, Alyssa and Amber Jones, Renee, Melissa and Marcell Meacham, great grandchildren, Jozeph, Jesyca and Elizabeth, brother, Virgil (Bonnie) Meacham of Motley, sister, Carol (Lonnie) Urban of Palo, sister-in-law: Dianna Meacham of Aurora, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcel and Cora, brother, Warren and sister, Irene.
