Funeral Mass for Mary Ann Pike, 92, of Gilbert, will be 10:30am Thursday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Gilbert with Fr. Charles Flynn as celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass at church. Burial will be in the Gilbert Cemetery. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Mary died Friday, September 10, 2010 in the Skilled Nursing Facility of the White Community Hospital in Aurora. She was born April 18, 1918 in Biwabik, MN to Joseph and Mary (Bradach) Otonichar. Following her schooling, she worked as a cook at the Biwabik Public Schools and later at the Biwabik Co-op store for many years. On May 23, 1967 she married John L. Pike in Biwabik. Mary was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Gilbert, was formerly a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Biwabik and was active in their women's guilds. Mary's passion was sewing, knitting, crocheting and gardening. She was the most kind and considerate person who had a terrific sense of humor. The past three years of her life were spent at the White Community Nursing Home where she loved and cared for all the employees and residents. She will be missed by everyone. Mary loved spending time with her great nieces and great nephews. She enjoyed playing BINGO and would frequently save the quarters for them. Mary dearly missed her husband, John for the past nine years. She has longed to be with him and is finally reunited with the love of her life again. Survivors include her sister-in-law: Jean Otonichar of McKinley; nieces and nephews: Mary Helen Boyer, Alice (Ken) Maag, Sue (Larry) Jakaitis, Danny (Rhonda) Otonichar, Debra Otonichar, DeaAnn (Larry) Lindholm, Diane Vuckovich, Dave (Sherry) Pike, JoAnne (Dave) Ebnet, Bill Pike, John (Kim) Pike, Mary (Ray) McIvor; numerous great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: John, step-father: Jack Zrnec, brothers: Joe and Tony, sister: Josie, nephew-in-law: Denny Boyer.
