Lois J. Lindgren, 90, of Aurora, died Tuesday August 31, 2010, in the White Community Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility, Aurora. Lois was born January 27, 1920, in Ely, the daughter of William J. and Jennie A. (Sandberg) Chapman. On October 12, 1940 Lois was united in marriage with H. Kenneth Lindgren at Morgan Park, Duluth. The couple made their home in Deer River and Big Fork before moving to Aurora. Lois was a active volunteer who believed in giving back to her community. The Aurora Food Shelf, which she began with Betty Engstrom 27 years ago, remained very dear to her heart. She was a proud member of the VFW Auxilliary #9702 in Aurora, a past office holder she served faithfully for over fifty years. Lois was a faithful member of the Aurora United Methodist Church where she also served on many committees. Survivors include her daughters Sharon Farrell of Aurora and Carole Murphy of Muskegon, MI; special son (in-law) Ronald Murphy; grandchildren Carrie Farrell, Scott (Heidi) Farrell, Jennifer Russell, Brian (Tina) Farrell; great grandchildren Garrett (Melissa), Travis (Stephanie), Collin, Jeron, Keyon, Darris, Alicia, Junior, Dominique, Tyler, Nathan, Camden, Josh (Desiree), Jacques; great great grandchildren Jayden and Jamil; sister-in-laws Joyce Chapman, Evelyn Chapman; brother-in-law Donald (Muggs) Lindgren; as well as many niece, nephews and their families, and many dear friends. Lois is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Joel, grandchild Wendy Farrell, brothers William Chapman and Donald Chapman. Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Friday September 3, 2010, at United Methodist Church in Aurora with the Pastor Barbara Hegfors and Rev. Brian Marshall officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 5-7 PM at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora, and also one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora.
