Funeral Mass for Georgene "Ginger" Elizabeth Jugovich, 69, of rural Aurora, will be 11am Wednesday April 21, 2010 in St. John's Catholic Church in Biwabik with Fr. Frank Perkovich and Fr. Steven Daigle as con-celebrants. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8pm in Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert with recitation of the rosary at 7:30pm. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the mass at church. Burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery, Biwabik, MN. Ginger passed away unexpectedly Fri. April 16, 2010 in the Virginia Regional Medical Center. She was born March 23, 1941 in Virginia, MN to Henry and Ina (Lahti) Kochkas. Ginger was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Virginia and later married Matthew Jugovich Sr. on June 27, 1959 in Virginia. Ginger began working for the Lenott-Peterson Clinic in Virginia as a medical records secretary and later transferred to East Range Clinic in Aurora. She began working for Minnesota Power in 1977 and retired from Laskin Energy in 1996 as a plant manager. Ginger was a gentle, kind and loving person. Those who knew her could always count on her for good advice, a smile to brighten your day or a hug. Ginger lived her life to the fullest always willing to help with any project or event. Ginger was a member of St. John's Catholic parish in Biwabik and active in its Council of Catholic Women. She was a former Cub Scout leader who enjoyed reading, baking, fishing and spending time at the lake. She also enjoyed spending time visiting with friends and being with family was of utmost importance. Survivors include her husband of over 50 years, Matthew Sr.; children: Kerstin (Joe) Krause of International Falls, Douglas Jugovich of International Falls and Dr. Matthew (Stephanie) Jugovich Jr. of Hermantown; seven grandchildren: Joey (April) Krause, Jessy (Hilary) Krause, Doug Jugovich Jr., Campbell, Jack and Katie Jugovich and Danielle Allen; two great grandchildren: Alayna and Jennie Krause; sisters: Joann (Daniel) Gangl of Nashwauk and Donna (Jim) Lasky of Duluth; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
