Margaret Ball

July 15, 1926 — April 11, 2010

Funeral Mass for Margaret E. Ball, 83, of Aurora, will be 11:30am Thursday April 15 in Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Aurora with Fr. Steven Daigle as celebrant. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the mass at church. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora. Margaret died Sun. April 11, 2010 in St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. She was born July 15, 1926 in Aurora, MN to John and Mary (Perne) Peterka. Margaret attended school in Aurora and on Feb. 14, 1952 she married Art Ball. She worked as a custodian for many years at the Holy Rosary Catholic parish and for six years worked as the parish housekeeper. She also worked for the Aurora City Hall, the Town of White offices and the Aurora laundromat. Margie was a devoted member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Aurora American Legion Auxiliary where she was actively involved in the poppy sales and the Slovenian Womens Union #35 where she was to be Member of the Year on May 2nd. Margie was also an active volunteer for UNICEF, was recently selected as Grand Marshall for the 2010 Aurora Fourth of July parade and was a former Aurora Moose Lodge member. She enjoyed crocheting and made several afghans that she enjoyed giving to family and friends. She especially enjoyed gardening and the company of family and friends. Survivors include her brothers: Charles (Dorothy) Peterka of St. Cloud and Dr. Edward (Jean) Peterka of Galesburg, Ill.; sisters: Ann Grigal of Virginia and Gabriella (John) Goritchan of Aurora; special nieces: Donna (Robert) Potvien and Barbara (Thomas) Kalczynski; many nieces, nephews and friends also survive She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Art; brothers: Phillip, Martin and John; sisters: Mary Olson and Christine Karulak
