Memorial service for Lorraine Deutsch, 85, of Buhl, formerly of Hoyt Lakes, will be 4pm Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora with her son-in-law, Bill Kapsh officiating. Friends may gather one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will follow the service at the Hoyt Lakes VFW Post. Inurnment will take place in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. Lorraine died Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Cornerstone Villa in Buhl, Minnesota. Lorraine was born October 14, 1932 in Sisseton, South Dakota to Andrew and Hannah (Thurston) Lewis. On January 4, 1950 she married Jerome Deutsch in South Dakota. In 1956 the couple moved to Hoyt Lakes. Lorraine was a homemaker and bartender for the Aurora Moose Lodge and the Aurora American Legion Post. She also worked at the Eveleth Tree Farm and in the Aurora-Hoyt Lakes school cafeteria. Lorraine enjoyed dancing and reading, but cooking was her specialty. Survivors include her children: Teresa (Laurie Brunfelt) Fredrickson of Hoyt Lakes, Kathy Riddle of Hermantown, Jane (Scott) Stroh of Bozeman, MT, Nancy (Nick) Hill of Hibbing and Anita (Bill) Kapsh of Cottage Grove; grandchildren: Sarah Fredrickson, Keith Fredrickson, Angela (Joe) Radzak, Dan Riddle, Joe (Lea) Deutsch, Adam (Kristin) Deutsch, Rick (Nicole) Depew, Danah Mason, Dustin (Debbie) Depew, Abby Stroh, Clara Stroh, Hannah Hill, Tommy Hill, Jayne Kapsh and Zac Kapsh; former in-laws: Margie Nelson and Rick Depew; 19 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerome; son, Andy; daughter, Louise “Toots”; two sisters, a brother in infancy and a son-in-law, Alan Riddle.
