Roger Hull

Memorial service for Roger J. Hull, 93, of Hoyt Lakes will be 11 am Monday, October 30, 2017 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Hoyt Lakes with Pastor Jerry Kosanovich officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. Military honors accorded by the Aurora-Hoyt Lakes Color Guard. Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home of Aurora. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. Roger died Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at his home. He was born on September 10, 1924 to Orvis and Alma (Duwe) Hull in Shawano, WI. Roger grew up and attended school in Shawano, WI. He enlisted into the US Navy during his senior year of high school where he served during WWII. Following his honorable discharge, Roger attended the Platteville Mining School and then transferred to the Rolla School of Mining in Rolla, MO. Roger graduated with a degree in mining engineering in 1950. Roger was united in marriage to Jeanette Krueger on March 13, 1947. He worked in the mining industry in several states before settling in Hoyt Lakes where he began working for Erie Mining Company in 1957. Roger retired from LTV Steel after twenty-seven years of service as the Superintendent of Ore Dressing. Roger enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling, and mostly golfing. He also took great pleasure in spending time with his family and friends. Roger was a member of the Aurora Legion, Hoyt Lakes VFW, golf and bowling leagues, the Engineers Club and was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 70 years: Jeanette; four children: Joanne (Gary) Guttormson of Blaine, John Hull of Anoka, James (Karen) Hull of Hoyt Lakes, and David (Donna) Hull of Hudson, WI; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister: Clara Klersy of Anoka; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by eight siblings and his parents.
