Alice Northrup

A celebration of life gathering for Alice Faye Northrup, 75, of Aurora will be held from noon - 2 pm Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Alice died Monday, September 18, 2017 at Essentia Health-Northern Pines in Aurora. She was born on May 11, 1942 to Floyd and Jenny (Simes) Jeffers in Sawyer, MN. Alice worked as a grandma for the Fond du Lac Reservation. She devoted her life to loving and caring for her family. She will be remembered for her loving nature and willingness to help anyone in need. Survivors include her seven children: William “Billy” LaPrairie of Aurora, Donald (Fran) LaPrairie of Aurora, Jennie LaPrairie of Duluth, Brenda (Moe) Benjamin of McGregor, John LaPrairie of Duluth, and Dawn and Warren Northrup, both of Duluth; twenty-eight grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren; one sister: Maxine Thompson of Little Rock, AR; numerous nieces and nephews; honorary sisters: Ann, Skeeter, Chickletts, Candace, and Chickadee; and her beloved dog, Bear. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Norman and Donald Jeffers; a great-grandson, Avrie; honorary sister, Ginty; and her parents.
