December 22, 1955 — March 6, 2017

Funeral service for James “Jim” John Glatch, 61, of Gilbert will be 11 am Friday, March 10, 2017 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert with Father Michael Garry officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Gilbert Cemetery. Jim died Monday, March 6, 2017 at the Solvay Hospice House in Duluth. Jim was born on December 22, 1955 to Donald and Faye (Kostal) Glatch. He grew up and attended school in Gilbert, graduating from the Gilbert High School. Jim worked as an auto mechanic. He enjoyed music, especially the Beatles, four wheeling, snow plowing and repairing and maintaining various things. Jim was also known to take great pride in his hair. He will be remembered as a kind hearted man who cared deeply for all his friends and family, including his beloved dog, Molly. Survivors include his two sons: Brad (Shannon Kerr) Glatch of Eveleth and Joe Newton of Virginia; five grandchildren: Jemma, Haley, Jeremiah, Noah, and Kole; his significant other: Linda Bushey of Gilbert; a sister: Kay (Randy) Olson of Grand Rapids; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Becky; a sister, Eileen Hocking; an uncle, Rudy Glatch; and his parents. Jim’s family wishes to thank Essentia Health Hospice for the wonderful care Jim received.
