Esther Huggett

Esther M. Huggett, 101, of St Paul, formerly of Hoyt Lakes, MN died peacefully on December 14, 2016 at home. She was born May 15, 1915 in Watertown, SD to John and Nettie (Otterson) Narem. Esther attended school in Waubay and Watertown SD. In 1935 she married William L. Huggett and farmed near Waubay, SD until moving to Hoyt Lakes in 1957. After retirement they spent winters in Welton, AZ. In 2009 she moved to an assisted living facility in St Paul. Survivors include sons, William (Sandra) of Brandon, SD, Steve (Doug Anderson) of Minneapolis, MN; daughter-in-law Sharol; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband William; son Dennis, her parents, eight brothers, eight sisters; and a great grandson, Shane. Her great joy was spending time with family and friends, and she lived by the motto “One Day at a Time”. A special thank you to the staff at Episcopal Homes Iris Park Commons, St Paul, MN for the love and care she was given while there. FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 am Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Faith Lutheran Church in Hoyt Lakes with Pastor Eric Thiele officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial will be at the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Faith Lutheran Church.
