Betty Anderson

Funeral service for Betty M. Anderson, 88, of Eveleth, formerly of Virginia and Biwabik, will be 12 noon Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Virginia with Rev. Susan Swanson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Lakeside Cemetery in Biwabik, MN. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Betty died Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Eveleth Fitzgerald Nursing home in Eveleth, MN. Betty was born June 3, 1928 in Baudette, MN to William and Isabel (Comeau) Peterson. She was a 1946 graduate of Roosevelt High School in Virginia and later married A. Robert Anderson in June of 1949. They lived in Biwabik where she raised two daughters. Betty worked at several retail businesses in Virginia and most recently was a ward secretary at the Hibbing Hospital. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, was a Sunday school teacher, a Brownie Girl Scout leader and was active in local sewing and gardening clubs. Survivors include her daughters: Roberta (William) Hennen of Provo, Utah and Barbara (Gregory) Shostedt of rural Gilbert; 13 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; three expected great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sister, Shirley (James) Charles of Tower; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, A. Robert; brother, Larry; two nieces, one nephew; special friend, James L. Anderson.
