Florence "Dolly" Mannelin

Memorial service for Florence “Dolly” Jean Mannelin, 85, of Makinen will be 11 am Monday, November 7, 2016 at the Palo Congregational Church with Pastor Jerry Kosanovich officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in the Makinen Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements by ZIemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Florence died Wednesday, October 26, 2016 due to injuries sustained in a tragic accident. She was born on August 14, 1931 to Charles and Anna (Loisel) Grippe in Gilbert. She grew up and attended school in Gilbert, graduating from the Gilbert High School, Class of 1949. Florence was united in marriage to Raymond Mannelin on June 25, 1949 in Makinen. Florence was employed by the St. Louis County School District for eighteen years where she worked as a teacher’s aide, cafeteria staff, and office duties. Florence was a member of the Palo Congregational Church, Makinen Community Club, and the Volunteer Fire Department. Florence volunteered for the “Sparkettes” fundraising for the Volunteer Fire Department and the 4H Busy Bees. Florence enjoyed cake decorating, taking ceramics and aerobics classes, fishing, and traveling. Survivors include: Children: Eugene (Donna) Mannelin of Deer River, Douglas (Karen) Mannelin of Chisholm, Eileen (Dave) Johnson of Biwabik, and Dean (Donna) Mannelin of Ocala, FL; fifteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; siblings: Charles (Jean) Grippe of Blaine, Anne (Phillip) Tabery of Sparta and Shirley Grippe of Biwabik; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; grandson, Kirk; great-grandson, Jaysen; her parents; seven siblings: Anthony, James, Leo, Dorothy, Angeline, Alice and Mary; and her partner: Roy Kilpela;
