Darlene A. Kaska

Memorial service for Darlene Ardell Kaska, 76, of Gilbert, will be 2pm Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert with Fr. Frank Perkovich officiating. Friends may gather one hour prior to the service. Darlene died at her home in Gilbert on Thursday, October 20, 2016. Darlene was born June 13, 1940 in Montevideo, MN to Bert and Cora (Erickson) Anderson. She was a graduate of Coon Rapids High School and later married Paul Kaska on October 4, 1958 in Montevideo. She was a homemaker who enjoyed camping and an active community volunteer. Darlene was a member of the George and Mark Klobuchar VFW Post in Gilbert and was active in its yearly poppy sales along with Vi Starr. Survivors include her son, Duane (Mary) Kaska of Aurora; daughter, Susie (Dan) Johnson of Aurora; grandchildren: Jesse Kaska, Jade Kaska, Dustin Suomi and Tanya Mattson; great grandson, Dominic Paul Kaska; brother, Butch (Lois) Anderson of Pine City, sister, Becky Manion of Pine City; sisters-in-law: Pat Anderson of McGregor and Karen Anderson of Mora; several nieces and nephews and her best friend, Pixie Smith of Montevideo; and her dogs, Chico and Tippy. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; son, Clinton; grandson, Duane Kaska Jr.; brothers: Darold, Ronnie and Ray; brother-in-law, Roy.
