Kevin Kedrowski

Funeral services for Kevin William Kedrowski, 56, of Gilbert will be 10 am Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert with Fr. Charles Flynn officiating. A visitation will be held 5-7 pm Friday and will continue one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the Gilbert Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. Kevin died peacefully Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the Rochester Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN with his family by his side. He was born on September 12, 1959 to Daniel and Karen (Schultz) Kedrowski, the third of four children in Virginia. Kevin grew up and attended school in Gilbert, graduating from the Gilbert High School, Class of 1978. On August 5, 1989, Kevin was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Lori Hannuksela. Lori passed away in 2010 following a courageous battle with cancer. For over twenty years, Kevin was employed by Champion Inc. serving the mining and wood industry in Hibbing where many friendships were formed. He retired from Champion Inc. in 2010. Kevin’s passion was the outdoors including hunting and spending time at the hunting shack. He especially enjoyed boating and fishing on Lake Vermilion. Kevin was a Minnesota Viking fan and loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his incredible storytelling ability and his contagious smile. Survivors include his two sons: Jake and Travis, both of Eveleth; one granddaughter, Emma; father: Don Kedrowski of McKinley; two brothers: Craig (Carolyn) Kedrowski of Cloquet and Kyle (Lori) Kedrowski of St. Cloud; mother-in-law: Marilyn (Elmer) Bruun of Gilbert; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lori; mother, Karen; and brother, Cory.
