June K. Flannigan

Funeral service for June K. Flannigan, 82, of Iron, will be 11am Friday, September 2, 2016 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert with Pastor Brad Felix officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Forbes Cemetery. June died Monday, August 29, 2016 at St. Michael’s Health and Rehab in Virginia, Minnesota. She was born June 12, 1934 in Eveleth, Minnesota to George and Eileen (Eskola) Kangas. June attended School in Eveleth and later married Harry Flannigan on July 24, 1950 in Virginia, Minnesota. Her family, especially her grandchildren and her home were of utmost importance to her. She also enjoyed camping, traveling, gardening and feeding birds at her home. Survivors include her children: Rodney (Donna) of Britt, James (Judy) of Duluth, Randy (Terri) of Iron, Susan (Peter) Cerkvenik of Mt. Iron, JoAnn (Rodney) Holweger of Virginia and Janice (Dan) Neumann of Virginia; daughter-in-law, Susan Flannigan of Eveleth; 17 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one expected great grandchild; siblings: Arlene Salin, LeRoy Kangas and Dale (Rose) Kangas; sister-in-law, Lillian Kangas; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry; sons, Timothy and infant son, Richard; siblings: Charles, Gordon and Donald.
