Marcia J. Woods

Memorial services for Marcia Joan Woods, 80, of Biwabik will be 11 am Thursday, July 28, 2016 at the Community United Church of Christ in Biwabik with Pastor Szarke officiating. Visitation one hour prior to the services at the church. Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. Marcia died Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the Essentia Health-Northern Pines in Aurora. She was born on February 7, 1936 to Edwin and Lillian (Kilpela) Mickelson. She grew up in Makinen. Following school, Marcia went to work at various jobs including the Peabody Shirt Factory in Eveleth, Pamida, LTV Steel, and the Biwabik School. Marcia was united in marriage to Robert Woods on August 29, 1953 in Virginia. The couple made their home in Biwabik. Marcia enjoyed cooking, baking, and sharing her baked goodies with friends and family. She took great pride in her home and yard. Marcia was a member of Community United Church of Christ in Biwabik. Survivors include her three children: Deborah (Robert) Johnson of Aurora, Robert (Michele) Woods of Eveleth, and Gary Woods of Aurora; five grandchildren: Tim (Mikaela Gaylord) Woods of Eveleth, Matthew (Chrystal Peipus) Woods of Eveleth, Michael (Brandie Kahtava) Woods of Aurora, Casey Woods of Aurora, and Rachel Woods of Eveleth. Five great-grandchildren: Natalie, Sophie, McKenzie, Skylar, and Hunter; one brother: Robert (Sue) Mickelson of White Face; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; daughter, Pamela Woods; three siblings: Helen Maijala, Ruth Braaten, and Howard Mickelson; and her parents.
