Adrian W. Barker

Adrian (Ace) Woodford Barker, 92, Hoyt Lakes, Minnesota passed away peacefully at Kylar Glen Hospice Home, Grand Rapids, MN on Sunday, June 12, 2016. He will be dearly missed by those he laughed with, lived for and loved. A mining engineer graduate from Michigan Tech, Ace worked across Minnesota’s iron ranges throughout his 37 year career. A devoted husband and consummate gentleman: Adrian was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, providing strong moral guidance with his gentle manner. Adrian is survived by his children, Mary (Stan), Tom (Jackie), Jim (Cathy), daughter-in-law Rosalyn, seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, three brothers as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen (2015) with whom he shared 69 years of marriage and son David (2015). A Memorial Service with military honor guard accorded by the Aurora/Hoyt Lakes Color Guard will be held for this decorated WWII combat veteran on Friday, June 17th at 11:00 am at Trinity Methodist Church, Hoyt Lakes with Pastor Jerry Kosanovich officiating.
