Anne M. Boczkur

Funeral Mass for Ann Mae Boczkur, 94, of Biwabik, will be 10am Wednesday, October 28, 2016 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Biwabik with Fr. Steven Daigle as celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass at church. Burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Biwabik. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert. Anne died Monday, October 26, 2015 at Northern Pines Medical Center in Aurora, MN. Anne was born July 24, 1921 in Eveleth, MN to Louis and Mary (Strle) Oberstar. She was a graduate of Eveleth High School and later married Michael Boczkur. She worked as a seamstress for the Cluett Peabody Shirt Factory in Eveleth. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, the Slovenian Women’s Union of Ely and was chosen Mother of the Year. Survivors include her daughters: Marianne (Dr. Matt) Anzelc of Hibbing and Jean (Ken) Lauren of St. Paul; granddaughters: Sally, Gretchen and Nancy; great grandchildren: Veronica and Lucas; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Michael; siblings: Louis, Frank, John, Mae and Frances; and a nephew, Tom Oberstar.
